What is Ethically Sourced Jewelry?
Conflict gemstones and diamonds (popularly referred to as ‘blood diamonds’) are mined in countries filled with civil wars and unrest. The money received from the sale of these stones is used to fund rebel movements and warlords. In an effort to stop these practices, the UN has put sanctions on these diamonds, making the sale of such gemstones and diamonds illegal.
Conflict free diamonds and ethically sourced gemstones are mined by legitimate companies who do not supply funding and support to war and drug lords, and unsavory groups.
Allurez practices ethical, responsible sourcing, and only uses gemstones and diamonds that are imported from conflict free countries. This is ensured because we only buy gemstones from reputable sources.
We only buy diamonds that adhere to the Kimberly Process. The Kimberly Process tracks diamonds from the moment they are mined to the point of sale. All of our diamonds come with certification papers.
