The Best Stud Earrings to Carry You Into Spring/Summer 2021
Jewelry shopping nowadays is not the same as it used to be, with the coronavirus pandemic limiting our ability to shop in person and try on stuff. Some retailers are offering the option of virtual appointments, including Allurez, in addition to in-person appointments. The one-on-one virtual appointments are great for those who want to see the jewelry pieces up close, and it allows you to meet with an experienced rep and who can virtually talk to you and ask any questions you might have.
Now regardless of how you’re shopping, let’s talk about what you’re shopping for.
Our current obsession is stud earrings because even if you’re stuck at home they can elevate any outfit. Sometimes you just want a lightweight pair of studs you can wear and not think about during the day, or even wear to sleep. So we’ve compiled a list of our favorite stud earrings that we think every woman would love, whether they be for your lobes or to line your whole ear. Sold as single earrings or in pairs, studs can include everything from fine pieces with diamonds to affordable gold-plated butterflies and hearts. You can also mix and match them for more of a funky look.
Whichever way you choose to wear them, here are our favorites:
Lightning bolt studs
Model Gabrielle Amritt is a fan of stud earrings and told New York Magazine she owns a few single earrings and pairs that she mixes together. ““I love to have different studs on each ear some days,” said Amritt, who has five ear piercings in total. Her main stud these days is a lightning bolt. “They add such a unique and fire vibe to any outfit,” she said.
Golden butterflies
We love anything having to do with butterflies so these butterfly earrings were a no brainer for us when creating a list of our favorite earrings. Buy them embellished with gemstones or diamonds, or get ones that are just plain metal. Many jewelry designers incorporate butterflies into their pieces and we especially love them in earrings. The British royal family also happens to love butterflies, specifically the late Princess Diana. She had a pair of butterfly stud earrings, suitable for everyday wear, that was then give to Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan, who is often photographed wearing them. Princess Diana’s had a pair of golden butterflies inset with blue stones and diamonds.
Mismatched earrings
We like playing around with our earrings, especially if we have a few piercings, and mismatching them. Mismatched earrings are often used by major fashion houses on the runway, including Jason Wu and Jason Wu and Ulla Johnson. According to Cosmopolitan magazine, its going to be one of the biggest spring jewelry trends in 2021. The magazine said, “If you haven’t tried the mismatched earring trend, with a longer drop earring and a stud or simply two different earrings, you definitely should!”
Designers that just showed their spring/summer 2021 collection in Europe also used the look on their runways, and some just put one earring on their models. According to Vogue, “Not having lost its ability to make a contemporary statement, the single or mismatched earring returned at No.21, Miu Miu and Alberta Ferretti. At Fendi, which again collaborated with tech accessories brand Chaos, the single earring became a play on the game of dice. Toss it in the air and let it decide if it’s time to pick up a book or reach for a bowl of pasta.”
