Reality Star Bethany Frankel’s New Massive Engagement Ring Is Reportedly Worth Millions
Former Real Housewives of New York City star and businesswoman Bethany Frankel recently showed off her massive new engagement ring, which reports say cost in the million dollar range.
PEOPLE confirmed on Tuesday that Frankel, 50, got engaged to film producer and real estate developer Paul Bernon, 43, after finalizing her drawn-out divorce from Jason Hoppy. The Skinnygirl entrepreneur and Bernon started dating in 2018. Although they split in October 2020, they sparked reconciliation rumors in February 2021. The mogul, who has a reported net worth of $70 million, confirmed they were back together this past Valentine’s Day with an Instagram post.
“Behind every woman… (you fill in the blanks here.) Happy Valentine’s Day xoxo #Loveyourself,” Frankel captioned an Instagram post featuring Bernon.
Frankel and Poppy wed in 2010 and separated in December 2012. Frankel filed for divorce the following month. They share 10-year-old daughter Bryn. The exes reached a financial settlement in July 2016, but fought hard for years over custody of Bryn. According to the New York Post’s Page Six, a judge signed off on their divorce on Jan. 20.
This past weekend, Frankel was photographed in Florida wearing her emerald-cut diamond engagement ring on her left hand during a beach day with her daughter and Bernon. Frankel paired her new diamond engagement ring with a floppy oversized hat and a one-piece swimsuit that featured a tiger design and side cut-outs.
One diamond expert told PEOPLE that Frankel’s engagement ring looks to be a 15-carat plus emerald cut center stone flanked by trapezoid side stones. The expert said, “The value should definitely top $1 million. With its stunning size and exquisite style, Bethenny’s ring is a nod to her relationship with Paul Bernon and their future together.”
Another diamond expert told Page Six Style: “It looks like she wore a three-stone ring that features a huge 8- to 10-carat emerald-shaped center stone set with two smaller emerald accent diamonds we estimate to be around 3 carats total. If it’s a real, natural diamond, I’d estimate its retail value at up to $1 million for a natural emerald-shaped diamond ring of that size.”
Speaking to PEOPLE in 2019 about their relationship, Frankel said things with Bernon were “wonderful.” She told the publication, “He’s a good person who I love. I don’t know if it’s a yin to my yang, but he’s really relaxed, he’s mellow and he’s very, very funny.”
Discussing Bernon’s relationship with Bryn during a 2019 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Frankel said, “Bryn knows him and loves him. They’re very, very similar people.”
Before reconciling with Bernon, Frankel said she felt pressured by those around her to take her relationship with the real estate developer to the next level.
“Not everything works out and so many people have tried to define my life with our lives — when are you getting engaged, when are you having a baby, when are you getting married? I just realized more in life with people being more open and honest with their lives and what they want that everything doesn’t have to sort of end in a blue box and a bow,” she said while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “We’ve had a great, great relationship and I’m really, really happy. Not everything has to end badly, some things just don’t continue and it’s not negative, it’s just life.”
