Fabulous Color From Fabulous Diamonds
When people think of diamonds, they tend to picture a large crystal clear gem that sparkles brilliantly under florescent lighting and signals an eternal love. The only time color comes into play is when light hits the angles of the gemstone just right to cause a type of prism effect that allows for several colors to reflect on nearby objects. However, the rise in popularity in addition to the technological advancements to more frequently find these incredibly rare diamonds has led to the concept of colored diamonds as gemstones on their own accord instead of just a type of “dyed” sibling of the more popular traditional, clear diamond.
Bands in particular have taken these very special precious stones into their loving embrace as colored diamond rings explode in current popularity as fashion rings, right hand rings, or rather unique engagement or wedding rings. The color yellow tends to be the first in mind when looking into diamonds other than clear ones, and this is largely in part from the bright and alluring yellow that the stones often exhibit. Yellow diamond rings make great gifts to loved ones or even to yourself! A place where the special diamonds really take hold is in the yellow diamond wedding band though since couples have a habit of very much enjoying the warmth, joy, and optimism that are associated with the color yellow. An off-shoot of yellow contains the possibility of a champagne diamond ring which is lighter in color with an almost dark gold tint to it—exactly like its name sake. Turning to brown, the chocolate diamond ring is a relatively new addition to the colored diamond family since the idea of a brown gem makes many people cringe, but this newcomer has really made its mark on the fashion world as the idea of a brown gem does not come close to the actual execution of a chocolate diamond. The rich chocolate coloring looks wonderfully elegant in small, neat cuts. A black diamond ring on the other hand has become the definition of allure and a marker of an offbeat but still stylish fashion sense. It looks best as a large, block-like cut.
