Beyonce Gifted These Cheeky Gold Necklaces to Her Friends as a Goodbye to 2020

There’s no doubt that 2020 was difficult for many of us, but Beyonce decided to close out the year with some humor in a customized gift that she gave to those close to her.

As a holiday gift to her friends and family, the “Formation” singer and entrepreneur, 39, gave them gold necklaces that truly paid tribute to what kind of year 2020 was. The gold and diamond necklaces were customized to display the number “2020” and designed to look like a hand with a raised middle finger — describing how so many people feel about this year.

“@beyonce gifted all of her girls with this amazing custom 2020 necklace. ‘?2020’ It’s a hand with middle finger and the year 2020 combined into one,” the star’s cousin Angie Beyince posted on Instagram alongside a close-up photo of the customized jewelry. “When I opened it my eyes teared up because it is both Hilarious & Deeply Sentimental. 2020 has had ups and downs but over all its been a really weird and tuff year. Hopefully 2021 is good to the world.”

“That necklace is the truth,” actress Octavia Spencer commented on the post.

Beyonce’s mother, Tina Lawson, also shared a photo of herself wearing the new gold and diamond necklace from her daughter. She wrote in the caption, “note my Christmas present (my necklace) from Beyonce f__k 2020 two many losses !!! But it is almost over and we are still here !!! Give God Some.”

Talking to the December 2020 issue of British Vogue for her cover story, Beyonce reflected on how 2020 has affected her.

“It would be difficult to experience life in a pandemic and the current social unrest and not be changed,” the mother-of-three said. “I have learnt that my voice is clearer when I am still. I truly cherish this time with my family, and my new goal is to slow down and shed stressful things from my life.”

Beyonce — who is mother to daughter Blue Ivy, 8½, and twins Sir and Rumi, 3 — added, “I let my children know that they are never too young to contribute to changing the world. I never underestimate their thoughts and feelings, and I check in with them to understand how this is affecting them.”

The Grammy Award-winning artist continued to say that after consistently working since she was 15-years-old, this year really allowed her to slow down and enjoy time with her family. “It’s been heavy and hectic. I’ve spent a lot of time focusing on building my legacy and representing my culture the best way I know how. Now, I’ve decided to give myself permission to focus on my joy.”

The mogul already has a big project in the works for 2021: a multi-year deal with Peloton to craft a “series of themed workout experiences” for a variety of class types, People magazine reported, adding that the partnership will also give back to black colleges and universities.
