Paris Couture Fashion Week ended in January, New York Fashion Week ended earlier this month and London Fashion Week is currently in full swing. Aside from the beautiful clothes seen on the runways, the fashion shows also displayed some of the top jewelry trends to expect for fall-winter 2022 that we cannot stop drooling over.

Florals

“Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” That was one of the iconic lines Meryl Streep said while in character as Miranda Priestly in “The Devil Wears Prada.” But the truth is floral accessories are also popular in the fall and winter, as seen on the runway during the 2022 New York Fashion Week.

According to Elle magazine, “Three-dimensional florals, in particular, seem to be in bloom: Ulla Johnson continued her ethereal boho vibe with gilded flower earrings that graced models’ collarbones; at Brandon Maxwell, silver roses wrapped around wrists; and Carolina Herrera presented purple perennial cocktail rings that will perk up any outfit.”

Cutesy charms

Coach had many of their models walk the runway during New York Fashion Week wearing charm necklaces and earrings that had teddy bears, whistles, and other charms. Coach’s Fall/Winter 2022 runway show in Lower Manhattan was set inside of an imagined neighborhood “Somewhere in America” and featured retro cars and some models walking dogs while a soundtrack of ‘70s romance remixed with ‘90s grunge played in the background. The charm jewelry was very in-line with the inspiration for the collection

As reported by Paper Magazine, Coach creative director Stuart Vevers said: “The collection explores tensions between romance and toughness to reinvestigate Coach heritage. I liked the idea of creating a nostalgic world somewhere in America seen through a widescreen lens, mixing the energy of today with the nostalgia for pop culture that has always inspired me.”

Bold pieces

Town & Country magazine explained: “From bold gold collars to big, playful earrings and pops of bright juicy color, jewelry is all about maximal fun right now. This is feel-good jewelry, the kinds of pieces that instantly boost your style and spirit. Call it jewelry therapy.”

“People are done with their sweats; they want to get dressed up again, wear bright colors, and fun pieces that make them feel happy,” said celebrity stylist Jason Rembert, who recently returned from January’s Paris Couture fashion and jewelry shows, and said the jewelry trends he saw are all about statement pieces.

Louis Vuitton’s new LV Volt Mesh necklace was a bold gold design and one of the stand-out pieces at the Paris shows in January, said Rembert. “We just saw several jewelers, including De Beers, Boucheron, and Mikimoto, all unveil pretty spectacular collar necklaces, which will undoubtedly make their way to the red carpet this awards season.” At the couture shows, he said designers such as Giambattista Valli, Fendi, and Elie Saab all featured outfits with plunging and strapless necklines, “leaving just the right amount of room for a killer collar necklace.”

“There’s a shift in jewelry, it’s bolder, stronger and more joyful,” added jewelry company owner Alysa Teichman. “The fun is in mixing it up—combining the new with older pieces, adding pops of color and pieces that you can live in.”
